I remember promising on my skincare intro to have an article featuring my battle with skin eczema.
Now here I go, as much as I remember, early on in my childhood I battled with itchiness that left red patches on my skin. Sometimes it would even leave boils on my hands, I recall this vividly.
When I was in kindergarten, I could not be able to write and would spend much of my time in class just listening to the teacher and envying all my other classmates who would scribble down the alphabets and numbers. This was hard and took a toll on me. I was the little girl at the corner of the class who had the most painful boils on the palm of her hands.
Every time I would have the attack when at home I would run to sit under a fan as the pain was too much. I would cry my eye balls in out as I scratched helplessly. The scratching would then make it worse.
Skin Eczema is a term for a group of medical conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed.
Mine to be specific was Atopic Eczema which is a group of diseases with an often inherited tendency to develop other allergic conditions such as asthma.
Yes asthma in my case was one of the conditions I battled alongside Eczema.
Well that’s for another post.
My Eczema has since subsided to only times when I don’t moisturize my skin.
Having dry skin doesn’t help make it any better. It gets all itchy then I end up scratching and leaving my skin sometimes injured and scaly.
Or wearing nylon outfits/ ornaments, exposure to too much heat and for some reason I get a very serious reaction when am in contact with cats.
If everyone in the world was blind how many people would you attract?
As a little girl my beauty wasn’t my pride, I got to work on my insides with the help of an amazing mum!
This experience made me learn one important thing though.
No matter how pretty, hot or sexy you might think you are, if the contents of your heart which are felt through your words and actions stink, honey you are not attractive to nobody!
The body is just clay in God’s hands, and fades with time.
True beauty is an inside job, now that’s the real deal.
We go a long way to purchase the best beauty products, go the spa to get those scrubs and facials.
But then how much time do we spend feeding our inner being?
Just like if we go without food our bodies will lack energy to function so is soul food for our beings.
When I say soul food I mean what do we allow to enter our hearts? What is your biggest influence?
Is it gossip? Is it bad company? Wrong motives? What does your heart thrive on? Social Media?
Take time today and ask yourself this questions then re-consider what’s in your soul kitchen.
Because whoever you are is a reflection of what your heart has been breeding,
Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it springs out the issues of life!
Now that’s real beauty-the contents of your soul.
Thanks for stopping by, share with me below how you feed your soul and maybe I can let you in on how I do mine!
