Overtime, I have learnt that your skin will reward you if you take care of it.
It starts from the inside then out.
But today am here to talk about a weekly skincare routine that I have adapted which is more intense because it takes longer and involves deep cleaning.
I blogged about both my night and day time routines some time last year. This article is a buildup of my day and night time skincare routines.
Please note that I am not a dermatologist or a skincare expert, this is a routine that has worked for me after trying different products, and that soothe my extremely skin, that has a history of eczema.
So, let’s start.
I clean my entire body with a bathing sponge and my Dove Nutrium Body Wash.
And then cleanse my face with my Neutrogena Hydrating Cleanser, which leaves my face feeling clean and not dry.
I pat dry and step out of the bathroom.
This step is what makes this routine extremely intense as it involves scrubbing.
This helps with removing of dirt that’s clogged up under the skin leaving the pores open and allows the skin to breathe again.
This is important, skin that is clogged (by oil, sweat and dirt) accumulates bacteria that later translates into acne or skin breakouts.
But first, I brush my skin to open up my pores to prep my skin. This helps all the product to get in and work more effectively.
I use my exfoliating gloves to rub the bath salt/scrub into my skin to achieve the deep exfoliation. I let the salts do their magic for an hour before rinsing with warm/cold water and patting dry.
As I wait I normally wear a facial mask on to serve the needs my skin has at the moment.
This could be hydration, remove excess oils. etc. Am loving this hydrating masks from Miniso.
N.B. If you have dry skin use cold or warm water and not hot water as it strips off all the moisture from your skin.
3. Moisturize (10min)
I have very dry skin so I have to moisturize it intensely.
I recently discovered the Luguah Naturals Shea Butter Vanilla Cream.
Smells like heaven and always leaves my skin very moisturized and soft.
This is my best skin find this month.
Flaky skin is at bay and am so thankful for Kenyan Natural skin products that work.
The Neutrogena Hydrating Moisturizer does it for my face after I take off the mask.
N.B. For my lips I love to mix castor oil and sugar to use as a scrub.
This are products you can find from your kitchen.
I allow it to sit for 20 min.
After rinsing off the product water.
I go in with my peppermint lip balm from Luguah Naturals.
